MEA Official Spokesperson statement on the fires in Southern California

Government of India regrets the loss of life and damage to property in the fires in Southern California. It is hoped that the blaze will soon be contained and the affected people enabled to resume their normal life. 

Our Consulate General in San Francisco has been in touch with members of the Indian community, many of whom have had to evacuate their properties. There has, so far, been no report of injury to any Indian national. 

The Consulate General of India is monitoring developments and has advised the Indian community that the Consulate stands ready to help them in any way and may be contacted as below:
