Press Release on expansion of consular services

At a function held at the Embassy of India annex in Washington DC this morning, the renovated Visa Hall was inaugurated by Acting Speaker of Lok Sabha, Hon'ble P.M. Sayeed and visiting members of Parliament Gen. S. Roychoudhury, Mr T.N. Chaturvedi and Mr Anadicharan Sahu. Ambassador Lalit Mansingh, DCM Alok Prasad and India's four Consul Generals in the United States were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Lalit Mansingh underlined the importance of prompt and courteous consular services and said that the upgraded and enhanced visa facilities at the Embassy in Washington were aimed to achieve this end. Mr Sayeed expressed his appreciation of the steps being taken in this regard and mentioned that the provision of consular services had improved significantly in recent years. He complemented the Ambassador and his team for having undertaken and completed the present renovation and modifications in Washington in record time.
