On December 28, 1999, some television news bulletins, covering the hijacking of the Indian Airlines aircraft, have shown excerpts from interviews with India's Ambassador Naresh Chandra along with interviews with the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States.

The Embassy of India wishes to clarify that the excerpts have been taken from unconnected interviews. The interview conducted with Ambassador Chandra in Los Angeles by CNN was in a one-to-one format and not in conjunction with any other interview.
