1. Embassy of India, Washington DC, invites quotations from reputed firms, for hardwood flooring work at its office located at 2107 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington DC 20008, as per the scope of work and sample material given below.

2. Interested firms may like to send their representatives to the Embassy [Contact person - Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Attache (Property), Phone no. 202-939-7062] to see the actual scope of work before submitting their quotes. The quotations may be sent in closed envelops clearly mentioning on the envelop "QUOTATION FOR HARDWOOD FLOORING" along with company details and it should be addressed to:

3. While submitting estimates, firms may also provide their details as well as the details of similar work done by them previously.

4. The scope of work is as under:

S.No.	Description of work
1.	Demolition of old carpet and floor and their disposal;
2.	Repair and prepare sub-floor to receive new hardwood floor;
3.	Removal of old carpet and inspect steps and stairs at main entrance, expose existing floor and professional cleaning and polishing of marble stairs;
4.	Installation of new hardwood floor at the Entrance Hall, Conference Room, Press Room and old reception room;
5.	Installation of hardwood floor on the stairs going up to the Ambassador's suite hallway (complete corridor);
6.	Runner from the main entrance up to the stairs till the Ambassador's suite with hangers on stairs;
7.	Repair and painting of three fire places;
8.	Prices to include all material & installations,
9.	Hardwood specification: 3 1/4 inch Stun gun color, pre-finished N. American hardwood, Tang & grooved, to be nailed down to sub-floor with a layer of bitumen black craft stapled-down to subfloor.
