The External Affairs Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee felicitated S/Sh A. R. Rahman, Gulzar and Resul Pookutty on their success at the 81st Annual Awards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science at Los Angeles today.

In separate letters to the Oscar awardees for the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, EAM described the recognition as a richly-deserved milestone in their artistic journey of soulful music and poetry, adding that they had done the country proud. He wished them many more years of rewarding creativity.

EAM also sent a congratulatory letter to Sh Vikas Swarup, Deputy High Commissioner of India at Pretoria, whose best-selling debut novel ‘Q&A’ was adapted into the film.
